Provides
structured and unstructured individual and group programs and activities consistent
with programs, treatment plans and nursing care plans. The selected candidate will also provide
leadership, teaching and role modeling to the Psych Tech I’s. Duties
include conducting programs and activities to encourage the psychological skill
development and socialization with small groups of patients directed by the
daily program schedule. Position requires the ability to follow written
and oral instructions, good interpersonal skills, and some knowledge of major
mental illnesses and nursing care of patients.
Prior experience in a
direct care position in an inpatient psychiatric setting required. A degree in Psychology, Rehabilitative Services or other related
majors preferred. Driver’s license preferred. Holiday and
weekend work required.
This
position is currently on evening shift (3:00pm-11:30pm); however, the shift
could change depending on facility needs. This position
opened on 1/31/13 with a minimum five-day posting requirement.
