NVMHI is seeking a licensed clinical psychologist to provide clinical and administrative services for individuals with forensic status. This position provides forensic program management, clinical forensic services, serve as Chairperson for the Internal Forensic Privileging Committee (IFPC), conducts training on forensic services and may provide clinical supervision for licensed psychologists and psychology associates. Other responsibilities include consulting with treatment teams on the management and clinical treatment of individuals with forensic legal status and functioning as a liaison between treatment teams and the IFPC, the Forensic Review Panel (FRP), Central Office, Community Services Boards, courts and other facilities.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of recovery based mental health practices, familiarity with ethical and professional standards of practice in an inpatient forensic setting, have the ability to balance recovery concepts with risk management, and have a well developed ability to communicate in oral and written formats.
· Graduate of APA accredited doctoral program in Clinical Psychology required
· Virginia license in Clinical Psychology required.
· Specialized education and/or training in forensic psychology required
· Previous supervisory experience required
· Administrative program management experience strongly preferred.
