Psychiatry

The Department of Psychiatry at the Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute is staffed by faculty experts in Psychosomatic Medicine, Addiction Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, Psychopharmacology, Cultural Psychiatry, Thought and Mood Disorders. Members of the medical staff are associate clinical professors at the George Washington University, School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences. The staff is responsible for providing scientifically competent psychiatric training to residents in the residency training programs at the George Washington University, Medical School and the National Capital Consortium. The department offers a highly ranked core clinical clerkship in psychiatry for medical students and physician assistant students.
